The love of writing

I just finished reading Library Mouse by Daniel Kirk and got a bit choked up at the end.  Yes, it is a picture book, but the message at the end really spoke to me.  Being an author is a roller coaster ride of emotions.  It is great to be reminded why I started writing in the first place--because I had a story to tell--because I love to tell stories and weave new possibilities.  I love to create stories and enjoy hearing people laugh at a line or staying up all night reading them.  It is the best feeling in the world. To all those who love to write, keep writing!  We all have a story, even those of us who don't care to write it down.  Our imagination is a beautiful window to the "What if..."  Imagination isn't just dreaming up magic and castles, it is thinking of new possibilities and asking questions.  Things we do when thinking of science as well as in the arts.  So whether you love art or science, imagination and wonder is the key to discovery.

More on the LDStorymakers conference 2011

Finally, here are the pictures from the conference!
I had three great roommates, Melanie, Lani, and Lori. Lani Woodland, Melanie Marks and Angela Corbett gave a presentation to a high school class. I got to be the chauffeur and "handing out" assistant. It was fun!

There are pictures of us in the ballroom where they had Sarah Eden conducting the presentations. It was lots of fun, and she was hilarious. Then, I went all fan girl at the signings! And was able to have my books signed by James Dashner, Stephanie Black, Kathi Oram Peterson, Melanie Marks, and Lani Woodland.

After the conference we went to the Roof restaurant and enjoyed an elegant dinner. We even saw L. Tom Perry of the quorum of the twelve apostles! He walked right by our table! So much fun! Enjoy the slide show.

The LDStorymakers Conference

The Conference was awesome! Wow, I learned so much. Bootcamp rocked! I had a great team of writers with me! lol. I am seeing all the exclamation marks. I must have had a great time. I will post pictures soon. I got to meet lots of authors, do an agent pitch and attend wonderful classes. I'm going to have a little blurb on classes I went to on posts to come. I think one of the best things about the conference is being in the same place with other people who have the same passion about writing as I do. The energy was crazy! I came home so tired, but full of hope and knowledge. Yeah for writers!
